Our contemporary take on a farm house kitchen, designed to make the most of the space available through the use of a variety of storage options. We have made use of open shelving to vastly increase storage space without the imposing look of long runs of wall cabinets. One entire wall of the kitchen is dedicated to shelves, providing ample storage for crockery, glassware and dried goods.

Other storage solutions include the pair of low level pull-out larders located either side of the butler-style sink. These are directly behind the cook when they are stood at the hob, providing easy access to a vast array of spices and baking ingredients. The unit that houses the larders and the butler sink sits proud of the rest of the run of cabinets. This provides additional space behind the sink for washing up accessories whilst also making a feature of the larders. Since all of our kitchen cabinets are made from scratch we can make each unit entirely bespoke to the kitchen it is being fitted into without the constraints of typical standardised unit dimensions.

Integrated appliances hidden behind cabinet doors prevent the kitchen from feeling cluttered. The skirting board used elsewhere in the property continues around the kitchen units, forming a toe-kick and is painted in the same colour as the kitchen to help tie the kitchen into the rest of the room. In order to allow the integrated dishwasher to function properly, the door extends down into the skirting and the joint is hidden within the moulding at the top of the skirting.

White quartz counter-tops with a simple pencil round edge help finish off the clean look of the kitchen. This stone provides a durable, easy to clean surface to ensure that the kitchen remains looking fresh for years to come.

As is typical with an Edmund & Co. kitchen, the drawers feature hand cut dovetails in figured Oak whilst the dividers are made of English Sycamore as a contrasting timber. In this instance, our client opted for applied drawer fronts rather than the full traditional drawer front we offer which you can see here.
